In-spire

What does it mean to inspire?  The Meriam Webster dictionary give the following meaning to the work

In-spire:

  • to make (someone) want to do something : to give (someone) an idea about what to do or create
  • to cause (something) to happen or be created
  • to cause someone to have (a feeling or emotion)

While this is the definition in the dictionary, I do not believe we can make anyone do anything. I do believe though, that we can influence others by offering ideas.

As a coach, I prefer to help you become inspired by asking great curiosity based questions that helps you dig deep into your subconscious and find your own inspiration.  If you are willing to go within, you will discover that you have all that you need within you. You will realize that you have met many people along that way that have inspired you to do something that you may not have thought of yourself. Still the desire to allow that influence was your own inner idea of who you are and who you want to be.

I have become acutely aware lately, of the number of people that I feel inspired by. Just in the last month, I have attended a few concerts. The first one was with 80 year old Nana Mouskouri! How could one not be inspired by this amazing musician singing in five different languages and with lots of energy. Then there was Chubby Checker who at 73 years of age gets up and does the twist and provides an hour and ½ of Rockand Role. But then, I choose to be inspired, because I am a grandmother myself, and I love music.

Look around you and notice the people close to you who inspire you. Is it your mother, your father, your neighbor, your children.  Is it those people that push themselves beyond all odds.

You see I believe we are only limited by the beliefs we hold. What are you limiting beliefs? Could you choose to believe something else?
