March madness is upon us yet again! This means many things to many people. As I get older I see a lot of March madness all around me. First let me say, I love the March madness when it comes to the NCAA basketball that culminates to the final four the first of April. It is a busy time for the teams and fun to watch. The same is true for our NBL Canada.
The other March madness I am referring to are things like, the horrific shootings that we are seeing right now. I know they are not necessarily related to March but they are about madness! My heart goes out to all the people who have lost loved ones.
On a little bit lighter note, there is the time change where people are feeling cheated out of an hour’s sleep. Research is even showing every time we change from one time to another, there is evidence of an increase in heart attacks, interrupted sleep and other health issues. This was something that was started for the farmers who comment that it is no longer an issue for them. I vote for staying with Daylight Saving Time.
Then there is the madness around the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. Spring hits this week and here in Eastern Canada we still have four feet of snow. People are tired of it all and complaining too. Yes, March is a little Mad.
All this being said, we still have lives with responsibilities that need to be taken care of. What is most important is how we deal with all the madness around us. Do you focus on what is out of your control? What about focusing on what is in your control? In reality, if we can focus on that over which we have control we will be much happier. So how do you learn to let go?
We can help with that in our Choice Theory Training Programs. Almost everyone who has taken the training says it is the most valuable training they have received to date. It is a program of personal freedom and empowerment. The end of April is our next in-person training with Douglas Jones, Senior Faculty of William Glasser International.
